On Saturday, we hosted our third Autism in Cricket Come and Try Session at the WACA Ground!
It was an amazing morning with so many kids, families, and volunteers out on the field to give cricket a go. The atmosphere was buzzing, and it was great to meet so many new cricket lovers, as well as seeing some familiar faces from last season.
The morning started with everyone arriving and jumping on the field for some free play and warm-up time. This gave each participant some time to become familiar with the oval and to try batting, bowling and catching. There was also a chill zone with some comfy bean bags to relax in and even a fun bubble machine station! We then broke off into groups to get the activities underway.
While the participants played on the field, the parents took advantage of the sunny morning to relax, grab a coffee and have a chat to some of our Endorsed Clubs who came for the day. A big thank you to Joondalup Kincross Cricket Club, Coolbinia West Perth Cricket Club, Warnbro Swans Cricket Club, Mandurah Junior Cricket Club, Bateman Junior Cricket Club, Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club, Wembley Districts Junior Cricket Club and Armadale Cricket Club who participated on the day and supported families to register for the 2022-23 season.
Take a look at some of the photos of what we got up to on the day in our gallery below. It was also pretty cool to see some of the participants and their families make the news!
