School Leaver Employment Support

We provide individualised pathways to employment and/or further education for students in their final years of school. Our School Transition Service is available to help you prepare for work while you are still at school, or to support your transition from school to the world of employment. This can include:

  • Traineeships/apprenticeships
  • Part-time employment whilst at school
  • Work experience
  • Pathways to further education, such as University and TAFE
  • Skill development sessions such as life skills and job skills

It doesn’t matter if you feel you face some challenges moving from school to work or even if you’re not sure what you want to do, that’s OK, we are here to support you along the way.

School leaver support is provided as part of your NDIS plan.

Work Assist Program

Work Assist is a support service that provides ongoing workplace support to employees with disability, injury or illness. Work Assist is funded by the Australian Government and is available at no cost to employees and employers.

If you are already in a job and you feel that your job security is at risk because your disability is affecting you at work – our Work Assist Program is here to support you. Work Assist assigns you a Specialist Employment Consultant for at least 6 months and up to 1 year to help you overcome the challenges that you are facing at work. If you feel like you could do with some help, then please do act by contacting us.

If you are an employer who has an Autistic employee who is facing some challenges at work at the moment, we will assign a Specialist Employment Consultant to work with you and your staff member to help all parties find solutions to remain in their employment.

Accessing our services

Disability Employment Services (DES) and the NDIS are both funded by the Federal Government.

These services work together to ensure people with Autism receive support specific to their interests and needs to reach their employment goals. Depending on your funding and individual circumstance, you may be able to be supported by both of these employment services.
