Specialised Areas
At the Association we have specialised teams who provide support to individuals with Autism to achieve their goals.
Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based, holistic approach that recognises that all behaviour is a form of communication.
Our team of Endorsed Positive Behaviour Practitioners understand that all behaviour has a purpose and is a form of communication and seek to understand the person’s needs within their environment. We work alongside the person and support network to make changes that enhance an individual’s quality of life and in turn reduce the likelihood of the person needing to rely on behaviour to communicate.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
The Autism Association specialist communication team works with individuals with complex communication needs who may require AAC support.
They are passionate about supporting individuals with Autism to communicate clearly and easily in their own way, personalising each person’s device and finding their unique voice.
TASTEE Mealtime Support
The Autism Association TASTEE team supports Autistic individuals with everything to do with eating, providing comprehensive mealtime assessment and recommendations for mealtime needs.
The TASTEE team are specialist speech pathologists, occupational therapists and psychologists who work collaboratively with families, therapists and medical teams to provide education, support and advocacy for autism and mealtimes.
