We offer a range of learning opportunities for early childhood professionals, educators, allied health professionals and community organisations. Presented by our expert team, professional development opportunities provide information on understanding of autism and improving skills and expertise when supporting with Autistic individuals.
What are the Early Indicators?
Early Indicators webinars are for Community Health and Family Professionals including Community Health Nurses, Social Workers, Community Allied Health Professionals, Local Coordinators, NDIS Planners, Early Childhood Educators, and Teachers.
This information session will help participants:
- Identify the early signs of Autism
- Understand diagnostic and intervention pathways
- Support families of children showing signs of Autism
- Learn about services and family supports offered by the Autism Association of WA and referral pathways

Health and Dental Training Program
The Autism Association is proud to have launched the first online training program for health and dental professionals in Australia.
Alongside a number of dentists and health professionals throughout Perth, we have developed a training program for the health and dental sectors to provide health and dental professionals with knowledge and resources to improve access and health care experiences of people with Autism.
The training program includes a catalogue of resources that fall under the headings detailed below. Once you have finished the training modules, you will receive a certificate of completion.
This project is an NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) initiative. Access to this online training comes at no cost and we invite you to share it with your colleagues.

Autism Early Childhood Champions
The Autism Early Childhood Champions Project supported over 150 early childhood education and care services with training and support to break down barriers to inclusion and create positive outcomes for children with Autism in early childhood settings.
While the project has concluded, families and early childhood education and care professionals can access a range of resources created for the project to help support children with Autism.
This project was developed in partnership with the WA Inclusion Agency and was funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

Provisional Psychology Academy
The Provisional Psychology Academy established by the Autism Association of Western Australia aims to build capacity and create opportunities for early career psychologists to pursue their chosen profession in disability services, community-based mental health services and child and youth services care. This is achieved through a comprehensive program that creates a pathway between your tertiary studies and becoming a registered psychologist.
